Cybit - Fleetstar Online Application
The main purpose of the project was to provide a secure Internet based solution that would allow fleet managers complete visibility and control of their commercial fleets. The system provided flexibility and a user-friendly interface specifically designed to assist and empower both managers and drivers to make informed critical business decisions which impact on the bottom line.
We were asked to provide the system with high security, full reporting capabilities, scalability, fault-tolerance, a desktop application look and feel, integrate Trafficmaster traffic flow information (SmartNav) and a complex third party (java-based) mapping system. Design the system to be re-brandable and translatable.
The solution revolved around bringing together a number of disparate technologies and developing, from scratch, a fast, scalable and resilient system that serves gigabytes of SQL data in an understandable and intuitive fashion including online maps of Europe down to a scale of a few metres and displaying the movement of vehicles in real-time.
Spira have gone on to supporting this application via upgrades, support and maintenance activities.
